LecturesMonthly LecturesLectures are usually held on the last Friday of each month, from September to May and are open to the public as well as members and their friends. The venue for the monthly lectures is the Filipinas Heritage Library, Makati Avenue, Makati (opposite the Peninsula Hotel). Registration is at 9:00am, lectures commence at 9:30am. Previous topics covered by guest lecturers have included: History Wrought in Gold, Pyramids of Egypt, Kalinga Costumes, Chinese in the Philippines, Galleon Trade, and Panalay: Muslim Dance. February LecturesThe February lecture series is usually held every Friday during February and is open to the public as well as members and their friends. Registration is at 9.00am, lectures commence at 9.30am. The lectures are related to aspects of the Philippines or Asian culture and are presented by MVP members. MVP After EightMVP After Eight events are held usually four to five times a year from September to May, at various members' homes. Registration is at 7.45pm, the lecture or demonstration commences at 8.00pm. Members and guests gather in the evening to hear lectures on a wide range of topics, not restricted to the Philippines and Asia. Topics have included: Philippine Folk Dances, Pearls, The Silk Road, Baltic Amber and a highly successful Pakistani Night. |
