This year’s course is divided into the following broad sections:

2 - The Spanish Colonial Period
3 - The American and Japanese Colonial Periods
4 - Independence and the EDSA Revolution
5 - The Modern Era
Each section is covered in a variety of ways:
WHO IS IT FOR?
The course is ideal for anyone who wishes to learn more about the
Philippines. It allows for a deeper understanding of the country through
participant presentations, field trips, guest speakers and special events.
All that you need is an enthusiasm for learning and the ability to read and
write English.
All presentations are in English and help is given to those for whom English is not their first language. Extra support is also provided for those who would like help with their presentation skills.
WHEN IS IT?
The course begins on Wednesday September 19th 2007 and runs through to April
with breaks over Christmas/New Year and Easter. The course finishes with a
Graduation Lunch in May at which successful students are awarded a certificate.
Classes are not held when the Wednesday session coincides with a regular or special non-working Philippine holiday.
WHERE IS IT?
Sessions are held at the Filipinas Heritage Library, Nielsen Tower, Makati
Avenue, Makati, from 9.00am to 12.00 noon. A break is taken mid-morning
for merienda.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
The course fee is 6,000 PhP if paid on/before September 19. We regret that
refunds cannot be given should anyone have to withdraw from the course for any
reason.
